Statement
At last, we are now in our twenties, our teenage
self is long dead and our long awaited adulthood has arrived! Or so we thought…
At home, at Uni, at work or in our relationships we
feel restless and lash out. In dissociation
I have used fashion as a way to investigate this identity crisis; we embellish
ourselves and have pink hair to discover who we are.
Whether the expectations we feel are from ourselves
or other people the pressure seems too much to bare in this period of our life.
We yearn for our free of responsibility childhood and become stuck in ‘what’s
next?’
Dissociation
is a small series that explores the quarter life crisis; this transition period
between Teen and Adult. We thought we worked out who we were as teenagers but
apparently there’s much more to learn.
